ELCO Youth Girls Softball Program
2012 Schedules (coming soon) Practice to start week of March 19th - - - You will be contacted by your coach Mission! The ELCO Youth Girls Softball Program strives to help promote a positive resource for young girls in the ELCO School District and beyond in developing the fundamental skills, sportsmanship and sense of competitiveness while having fun so they can build upon in both their athletic and scholastic endeavors. Conduct It is to be understood that both the players and all attending practices, games and on social media sites will conduct themselves civilly and respectfully towards all involved in the program! These children are here to learn and have fun, not meet the expectations of college recruiters so lets keep emotions in perspective please. Coaches will be approachable, after games and practice, for any comments that can be addressed with a positive corrective solution in a respectful manor. Inability to accept and follow these terms will be dealt with accordingly!Who is Eligible It is preferred that your daughter has gone through at least on year of T- Ball. Otherwise, any girl that is in 1st - 7th grade and can commit to making it to the prescribe two practices a week in the beginning and then games once the season begins will do well. Those on a travel softball team will not be able to play on the Rec. league do to scheduling conflicts and both respective organizers agreements. Those not making the travel team cuts are welcome to register, but will be assigned to a team that best needs them.Purpose This program is intended for girls of the same grade, age and abilities to compete against other girls in their community. The Mares will consist of 1st-3rd graders and the Fillies will be made up of 4th-7th graders. All girls will be developing their offensive and defensive skills. The mares will have a participating coach or parent pitch to the batter. The fillies will also developing their experiences pitching to the batters, with the attention of them getting the ball over the plate and letting the batter hit the ball to better develop the whole teams ability to react and make more responsive plays.Start-Up Practices will begin the week of March 19. Your child’s coach will contact you the week before practice starts to let you know days of week, time and location. Please leave best formats, preferably email, that you can be reached at. Registration! Click on the Registration link below to register your daughter for this seasons’ softball season. If you do not have an Email address, send registration information to the above address. If you do not have a printer and need a copy of your registration receipt, email John Neely. A registration fee of $20 is due to the above address at time of registration, made to “ELCO Youth Girls Softball Program.” A hat and individual team shirt will be provided once games are scheduled.
